Heartland Baptist Graduate School

Graduate School Dean

The Heartland Baptist Graduate School offers a Fifth Year Practical Ministry program of study which will help the male Bible college graduate develop and refine practical ministry skills.

The student must make application and be accepted into the program.  The criteria to be used for acceptance includes pastoral recommendation, references, undergraduate coursework and GPA, and suitability for graduate level work.  Successful completion of the program requires a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Students should strive for a minimum “B” average in each class.

Undergraduate prerequisites apply, particularly in the areas of Bible, Greek, homiletics, and hermeneutics.  The undergraduate program must have included an emphasis in pastoral studies, missions, youth, or church ministries.  On a case by case basis, certain undergraduate prerequisite classes may be approved to be taken concurrently with graduate classes.

Classes will meet on campus weekday mornings, and each class will meet one day per week for 15 weeks.  Attendance at chapel on Tuesday and Thursday is encouraged.

Graduate students will abide by all rules, policies, and procedures outlined in the Student Handbook.  Single students are permitted to live off campus; however, housing will be available on campus for those who desire it.  Standard room and board charges will apply.  A minimum number of class hours will not be required to live on campus.

It is important that graduate students be familiar with the academic requirements, to include grade point average minimums, prerequisites, and graduation criteria.  All academic requirements must be met before a diploma can be awarded.
