Undergraduate Programs
The Education Department, through its experienced teachers, is committed to training quality teachers who will have a Christian philosophy of education.
The
department seeks to prepare the students with skills, methods, and strategies
which have proven effective and to equip them thoroughly with the necessary
knowledge base for their respective subject area specialties.
The Education Department's philosophy addresses two main points: the
preparation, spiritually and professionally, of individuals whose focus is the
teaching ministry, and the training of teachers whose philosophical
underpinnings are based on an accurate understanding of Biblical principles and
truths.
Upon completion of this program of study, the student will receive a Bachelor
of Arts diploma in Christian Education. The majors offered are Elementary,
Secondary, or Church Education as well as Youth Women. Both the Elementary and
Secondary Education major will provide prospective teachers with a planned
sequence of course and field experiences which will prepare them for the
classroom requirements. This course of study provides the student with a
general preparation for local church ministry as well as training for those
interested in teaching or administrating a Christian education program both in
the United States
and on a foreign field.
